Chairman’s Greeting
주한 스웨덴상공회의소 회장 인사말

The Swedish Chamber of Commerce, SCCK, has now more than 3 years of operation and experience since the founding back in 2012. Today we have more than 45 companies on our member list. With hopes of growing up to about 60 members.

The Chamber’s main goal is to act as a platform and a common voice for Swedish businesses in South Korea. In this fast developing market there is a constant need to be updated on the latest development in regulations, economy, Human Resource, business and markets trends. SSCK regularly organizes seminars, working-group meetings and other events in order to update and inform our members on recent developments and give the opportunity to network and share experiences. We are also working very closely with the Swedish Embassy and Business Sweden here in Seoul on various issues such as trade policies, FTA agreement with the EU and other different industry matters to increase awareness and support our Swedish companies.

Since January 1, 2015 I’m the new chairman of our board and I will work closely together Hedvig Lundén-Welden who is our new General Manager for SCCK since September 2014. We will both do our very best to serve, support and provide information to our members of SCCK. I’m sure we have an interesting, exiting and developing year ahead in SCCK. The business climate and the Korean businesses are still growing with an expected growth of 3,4 average 2015 and that will of course help our member companies as well.

Still it’s the big famous Korean export companies together with growing business like health care, pharma, food, energy, music and tourism that are in the driving seat for the developing Korean industry. We can see a global increasing interest in South Korea and from a Swedish perspective it’s more and more Swedish companies that are showing interest to establish their offices and business in South Korea.
SCCK wish that more Swedish companies would experience the dynamic market with great business opportunities here in South Korea!

SCCK would like to wish you all a great and successful 2015!

Roland Idemyr
Chairman of SCCK
Message from the Swedish Ambassador
주한 스웨덴대사 인사말

I’m the new Swedish Ambassador to Korea since 1 September this year. I’ve worked with Asia for more than 14 years and I can’t think of a more exciting place to be than Korea right now. Our relations with Korea are already strong but it’s my ambition to contribute to enhanced business and trade relations between our countries and more collaboration and contacts also in other fields, as well as student exchanges and more tourism in both directions.

During 2015 we’ve already had a number of high-level visits from Sweden and this will continue during the autumn and next year. In November the Swedish Minister for Enterprise and Innovation will visit Korea with a high-level delegation. The focus will be innovation and civil safety. There is a keen and constantly growing interest for Korea from Swedish business, academia, culture sector, Government and other official representatives. In Korea the image of Sweden is strong and very positive. We have so much to offer each other and this gives us an excellent basis for building strategic and long-term partnerships.

I look forward to collaborating closely with SCCK and other partners in “Team Sweden” as well as with the many friends of Sweden here in Korea! Together I’m sure that we will be able to take the relations between our two countries to an even higher level.

Mrs.Anne Hoglund
